A hat obsession

I love hats. Don’t ask me why, but I just feel that a hat finishes off an outfits. I have so many hats and so many styles. Yet people today do not seem to have the same affinity for hats as in the past.

I love photos from about the 1950s and earlier where women wore hats, to church, to the shops, to weddings etc. Today when I wear hats out (depending on the hat) people stare at me.

I have decided that I will start wearing my hats more often. From now on Fridays will be my hat day at work, and on the weekends I will start wearing them more often. I’m not sure I can get away with wearing them at church, however, as that doesn’t seem to be something that is done anymore. Unless you are going to a fancy, socialite wedding that is. I love the photos of the weddings that they show in the Hello magazine where the women wear fascinators.

Hopefully the trend of hats pick up again and people start wearing them like they did in the past. Until then, I guess I will be one of the few who still enjoys what some may view as an old tradition.
